North Down Alliance MLA Andrew Muir has met with the Eco-Committee at Clandeboye Primary School and congratulated the pupils on their recent Green Flag award. The MLA was shown a presentation on all the pupils’ work to protect the environment and was also given a tour of the school, including its outdoor facilities.

Speaking after his recent visit, Mr Muir praised the students and staff:

“Clandeboye Primary School is a haven for nature, from its forest school to the rainwater garden, and I was wowed by all the wonderful work going on to protect our environment. The Eco-Committee has come up with so many innovative ideas that we could all learn from; clearly, the school’s Green Flag award was well-deserved.

“During their presentation, the children told me all about the hedgehog house and other habitats they’d created in their garden, as well as their efforts to reuse and recycle, including the school’s fantastic eco-fashion show. Their love of nature and the environment is so inspiring and is clearly a huge part of the Clandeboye Primary ethos.”
