Belfast shop staff bag up almost £18k for children’s cancer charity!

April 2015 - South Side Advertiser

A GROUP of west Belfast shop staff are celebrating raising over £17k for Cancer Fund for Children.

EUROSPAR Lagmore OWNERS Henry and Joanne Curran got the fundraising ball rolling by taking part in a trek along the Inca trail in May 2012. It was an adventure of lifetime for them but most importantly, the money they raised has helped the charity provide practical, emotional and financial support as well as free short breaks to local families affected by cancer.  However, Michael and Henry also have a very enthusiastic team of staff behind them who have helped them reach their impressive total of £17,176. The team have been continuously fundraising since 2011 and managed to raise an amazing £1200 by taking part in the charity’s All Wrapped Up Christmas jumper day in December.

Cancer Fund for Children fundraiser, Sorcha Chipperfield, who looks after the charity’s long-running partnership with Henderson’s, said: “Everyone at the charity is ecstatic that this one store has brought in so much money that will enable us to continue our vital work. I would like to say a massive thank you to all of the staff and customers from EUROSPAR Lagmore for their fantastic fundraising.”
