Council Plants Flower-Bed In Donaghadee

October 2014 - The Ards Advertiser

Ards Borough Council has created a special flower-bed in Donaghadee to raise awareness of the Parkinson’s condition in Northern Ireland.

Mayor of Ards, Councillor Philip Smith, said: “The flowerbed is a way for the Council to raise awareness of Parkinson’s. 1 in 500 people in the UK are affected by the condition; at present there is no cure but treatment is available to manage many of the symptoms.”

A local support group meets the third Monday of every month in the Town Hall Ards Centre, Conway Square in Newtownards. Visit www.parkinsons.org.uk for more information on local support groups.
